The Hansen Leadership Institute is a renowned student exchange program that brings together outstanding young leaders from around the world in each summer. Based at the University of San Diego in California, the Institute aims to foster mutual understanding and help address global challenges through international exchange. Program is fully funded and the the duration of the program is 3 weeks. To apply applicants will need to give to two letter of references, giving evaluative statements explaining why are qualified for this program. One reference must be from academic advisor or professor and second reference must be from an NGO where you have worked.
For over 20 years, the Hansen Institute has invested in developing the next generation of globally minded leaders committed to issues like conflict resolution, economic development, human rights and environmental sustainability. The month-long intensive program immerses fellows in leadership training, cultural experiences and policy discussions alongside a diverse cohort of peers. Eligibility Criteria:
Following are the requirements for Hansen Leadership Institute Program,
- Upper division undergraduates with 2 years of school/college graduate students with interest in international relations, diplomacy.
- Ages 20-26 at start of program
- Demonstrated leadership potential through community service or NGO work.
- Interest in international relations, diplomacy or development
- Academic adviser to verify English proficiency for non-U.S. students.
- A valid international passport with US visa if necessary by the time the program begins.

Deadline
The 2024 application period opens in November. All required documents must be submitted by the February deadline. Selected fellows will attend the program from July 1-23 in San Diego, California.
