To attract women in the field of Nuclear science, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is offering Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme(MSCFP). Named after pioneer physicist, Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie, with the aim to include more women among men to contribute in scientific and technological innovation. MSCFP provide this scholarship Masters degree programs in Nuclear field. Females from all countries can apply for this fellowship programme. Selected students are also give internship opportunities facilitated by IAEA. Like EPFL Master Excellence Fellowship this is also a fully funded fellowship opportunity.
Women being the half of population are see to be under represented in STEM fields. To encourage women to enter nuclear fields, IAEA is funding the The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme to motivate women to pursue fields in nuclear science and technology fields like nuclear energy, nuclear safety, nuclear security, non-proliferation and nuclear law. Selected students education will be funded by this program at any accredited university. Apart from this scholarship students will also given internship opportunity for 12 months.
Maria Salomea Skłodowska-Curie or simply known as Marie Curie was born in 1867 in Poland then later move to France for education purposes. Marie Curie is the only women to won two Nobel Prizes in two different fields (Physics and Chemistry). In1898 Marie Curie along with her husband Pierre Curie discovered Radium and Polonium. In 1903 they won the Nobel Prize for Physics for discovering radioactivity. In 1911 she won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for isolating pure radium. To commemorate her achievements International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) launched Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme in 2020.
