Are you a undergraduate student studying in math, computer science, or any related disciplines and looking for internship opportunity in USA? If your answer is Then you must be thrilled to know that applications are now open for Research in Industrial Projects for Students (RIPS) Summer Internship program. The Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM) at UCLA offers a unique summer internship program for students in the field of mathematics and computer science. The RIPS internship program provides an opportunity for students to work on research projects in collaboration with industry partners. Internship program is designed to provide students with practical experience in applying mathematical and computational techniques to solve real-world problems. This is a unique internship opportunity to not only work on real-world research projects but also gain valuable experience in your field.
In practical this is more of a student research internship program where students engage in a research for a short duration of time, internship program is open to students who are currently enrolled in a degree program in mathematics, computer science, or a related field. RIPS Internship is designed to provide students with a diverse range of research experiences, from pure mathematics to applied computer science. The internship program is typically 9 to 10 weeks long and takes place during the summer months. Undergraduate students can apply for RIPS-LA and RIPS-Singapore, while for graduate students GRIPS-Berlin or GRIPS-Sendai are available for application.
RIPS projects are diverse and challenging on topics such as space mission design, crime modeling, machine learning, weather forecasting, digital image blending, quantum computing, finance, and more. The program is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to work on projects that are both academic and practical. Industry sponsors for the RIPS program have included The Aerospace Corporation, AMD, Google, GumGum, HRL, IBM, Lawrence Livermore National Lab., Meta, and Roswell Biotech.
